The way children wait up all night on Christmas Eve in anticipation of the toys they’ll receive I get equally excited each year when Dwell Magazine hosts its annual Dwell On Design conference in Los Angeles. This year was no exception! Dwell On Design (DOD) is the largest design event in the country and features everything from furniture, appliances, paint and landscape design to a wide array of jewelry designers and more.
One of my favorite elements of the three day event (which took place from Friday, June 20th- Sunday June 22nd at the Los Angeles Convention Center) is the array of pre fab model homes on display. Several were on hand fully outfitted with furniture, lighting, appliances and textiles. I loved being able to explore them and get a tiny glimpse into what it would be like to live in one.
Equally exciting are the variety of workshops offered with topics that would appeal to the new and seasoned designer. I was fortunate enough to check out a workshop featuring everyones favorite TV host/carpenter: Ty Pennington.
DOD is my go to place for design inspiration and a look at what trends are on the horizon. I volunteer every year it’s a great way to get an up close and personal look at the event while contributing to its success. What design events or publications do you look forward to attending or seeing? Share in the comments below. Here’s a few photos I took at the show.
